Agiamore mission was a sub-station of Poreyahat Parish. Rev.Fr. Benvenute TOR negotiated to acquire land for the new parish in Agiamore. The Church and the residence was built by Rev. Fr. Beneventue. Later in 1971, Agiamore was separated from Poreyahat as a Parish. Fr. Stanislaus Murmu TOR was the first resident Parish Priest (1969-76). Many were received into faith during the pastoral ministry of Rev.Fr. Stanislauss Murmu TOR. He is well remembered here. The weekly ‘Hatia’ (market) that was started by Rev.Fr. Stanislaus Murmu at Agiamore is still prevalent. The TOR Priests served Agiamore mission till 1981. Rev.Fr. Thomas Vettikad became the first Diocesan Parish Priest in Agiamore. In 1975 Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC) joined the Parish. Extension of the parish activities led to the creation of a new centre at Rajdaha. |
