The Mother Parish of Gamhariatanr is Tisri (Palmo). Rev. Fr. Thomas Marandi, the then Parish Priest of Palmo, acquired some land and had started a High School at Gamhariatanr. Between Palmo and Gamhariatanr, there is a small town called Tisri. The distance between the two mission stations is just 4 kms. In 2007, Gamhariatanr was raised to a parish. Some villages of Belatanr parish and Palmo parish together formed Gamhariatanr parish intially, Notre Dame Sisters assisted in school and hostel in its initial stage and closed their Mission. Later, the Samaritan Sisters joined the High school. |
