Kusumba, in 1940’s, was a Mass Center of Gokhla. A horse ride was the only means on every Saturday evening from Gokhla to reach Kusumba for Holy Mass. It was a sub-station of Baccha. Rev. Fr. Lucas Arulappa started living at Kusumba from 1989. Earlier Late Rev. Fr. Mathew Chennatt was there for a while. The church which is dedicated to St. Theresa of Child Jesus was built at the time of Rev. Fr. Lucas and blessed on February 2, 1997. Rev. Fr. Lucas Arulappa was made the first Parish Priest of Kusumba, when it was partitioned as a Parish in 2007. |
