At the time of Jesuit fathers from Patna, some Catholics were already there in the Barney area of Katoria Block. Jesuit Fathers came from Harimohra to look after the spiritual needs of this community. The TORs bought a Baptist Mission property in 1962 and shifted the Novitiate from Gokhala to Babumahal. The church was constructed at the time of Rev. Fr. Simon Engler TOR in 1965. The novitiate house is still there in Babumahal. |
