Mariam Pahari was a sub-station of Chakai originally. Fr. Dan Rice S.J. who was assistant pastor at Chakai used to go there for Sunday Mass. But from the early 60’s Mariampahari was separated and the place was built up. The church was built from contributions received from a German Doctor who used to visit Mariampahari from Mokama. Fr. Gregory was the first Diocesan priest to reside at Mariampahari from 1974. The Church was renovated by Fr. Scaria Kollerette, and blessed on December 15, 1994. |
