Late Bishop Thomas Kozhimala made his first contact with Nipania village which falls under Banka district through Christian Santal working in Banka block. Bishop Thomas Kozhimala, who was then the Rector of St. John’s Regional Minor Seminary, did the pioneering work in Nipania from 1986. Nipania was an outreach station for Late Thomas, who later became the Bishop of the Diocese. He bought a small plot of land and constructed a Primary School. Holy Mass for the faithful was celebrated in one of the class rooms in the school.
