Paharpur was the substation of St. Patrick’s Church, Basmata, since 1966 from the time of late Bp. Urban McGarry. It is about 27 kms away from Basmata and it falls under Chandan Block of Banka District. There are 25 villages out of which seven villages are Catholic having population about 215. Paharpur Mission has about 41/2 acres of land. This substation has been raised to a Parish in 2017 and Fr. Albinus Murmu is the Administrator of the mission at present.
