Palmo-Tisri was a Mass centre of the undivided Belatanr Parish. When Tilkimaran was made a Parish bifurcating Belatanr, Palmo-Tisri was contrived a substation of Tilkimaran. In 1988, Tisri became an independent parish and Rev. Fr. Mathew Kuttickat was appointed as its first parish priest. He acquired enough land for a parish. On the very first year of his appointment as the parish priest, through the Bishop, he invited Notre Dame Sisters and started the convent in a mud house. Parish church was constructed immediately and blessed by Late Bishop George Saupin SJ. In 1985, with the help of the SND sisters, Rev. Fr. Mathew started a Middle School, Health Center and a girls’ study home. |
