| When Katibari was separated from Poreyahat in 1973, the Mass centre Siktia became part of Katibari parish. When C.D.C at Gunghasa was started in 2000, Siktia came under Gunghasa. In October 2007, Siktia became an independent Parish and Fr. Mani Kaipananickal was the first parish priest of Siktia. The Parish has grown up considerably with the presence of a priest and the PBVM sisters, who were helping in the school and the primary health centre. At present, the PBVM sisters are replaced by DM sisters. Fr. Christu Raj worked hard in bringing up the parish and the infrastructure. |
