As the years passed the diocese expanded with the establishment of more and more churchs, schools, boarding homes and dispensaries, Late Bishop Urban McGarry felt the need of costructing the new office to cater the official administrative needs of the diocese. And also to provide accomadation for the priests and guests. So, a plot of land was found in Nawab Colony and it was purchased in 1980 from the 'Nawab Quli' family who owned the plot. Mr. Chada drew the blue print of the building and it was constructed by Mr. Charles the contractor. On completion of the construction of the building, Late Bishop Urban blessed and inaugurated in 1983 and named it as 'Chancery Office', which is at present the official residence of the present bishop and administrative head office of the diocese.
