The foundation stone of Kabirpur chapel was laid on December 16, 1910 by E.H.O Walsh Esq. I.C.S. for the Christian community residing in this area. An International Mission Trust looked after this project. In 1981 the legal ownership of the place was transferred to the Catholic Diocese of Bhagalpur. The chapel was renovated through the efforts of V. Rev. Fr. Varghese Panangatt on March 12, 1986. In 2012, Kabirpur St. Joseph’s Mass Centre was raised to a Parish and the principal of St. Joseph’s School is made the parish priest. Thirty Christian families and two communities of sisters constitute this parish. |
